Synopsis (from Publisher): Diana Brennan came west on the orphan train and was given a home with a loving couple who cherished and spoiled her. At 17, she fell hard for Tyson Applegate, the son of a wealthy mine owner. After a whirlwind courtship and marriage, Tyson took off for adventures around the world, including fighting with the Rough Riders in Cuba. Receiving no word of him for seven years, Diana's infatuation with her dashing husband died an ugly death, and she is ready to move past the old pain and marry again, just as soon as Tyson is declared legally dead.

But when her husband returns, supposedly a changed man, he wants to reunite with his wife and run for the senate. While Diana suspects the election is his real reason for wanting her by his side, she agrees to maintain his home and to campaign with him, but when it is over, win or lose, she wants her freedom. He agrees with one condition----she must give him a chance to change her mind about him.

Best-selling novelist Robin Lee Hatcher is known for her heartwarming and emotionally charged stories of faith, courage, and love. She discovered her vocation after many years of reading everything she could put her hands on, including the backs of cereal boxes and
ketchup bottles. Winner of the Christy, the RITA, the Carol, the Inspirational Reader’s Choice, and many other awards, Hatcher is also a recipient of the prestigious RWA Lifetime Achievement Award. She is the author of 70 novels and novellas with more than five million copies in print.

Hatcher’s own experience being married to an alcoholic led her down an unexpected path. Her divorce, though painful, strengthened her faith and gave God the opportunity to save not only her husband but her marriage as well. Their reconciliation became the answer to prayer Hatcher had been waiting for and it became part of the deeply personal story she wanted to share with her readers in A Promise Kept.

Hatcher enjoys being with her family, spending time in the beautiful Idaho outdoors, reading books that make her cry, and watching romantic movies. Her main hobby (when time allows) is knitting, and she has a special love for making prayer shawls. A mother and grandmother, Robin and her husband, Jerry, make their home on the outskirts of Boise, sharing it with Poppet, the high-maintenance Papillon and Princess Pinky, the DC (demon

cat).

Beloved is an incredibly sweet and tasteful story of redemption and forgiveness. This is the third book within a series, and although I haven't read the first two books, I didn't feel like I was missing anything. This is also the third work I've read of Robin Lee Hatcher, and I must say that she is becoming one of my new favorite Christian Fiction authors.

I was hooked within the first few pages of the book when confronted with a bit of a scandal: Diana Brennan is celebrating her engagement to another man when her husband, who was thought to be dead, appears at the door. Clearly there was some kind of miscommunication here!

Tyson Applegate had left Diana for selfish ambition and has returned [supposedly] a changed man and determined to win her heart back. In the meantime, they live as husband as wife, but Diana's heart is far from it. Talk about awkward. Slowly, we watch the pieces put back into place, and a relationship bloom that only God can manage to navigate.

This was a cute book. It was tastefully done and actually wasn't quite as "romantic" as you would assume by the title. I lent my copy to a friend, and she had it read by the end of the week!
